VJing - Live Video Mixing
Tom's design and multimedia interests have lead to his hobby of VJing (Mixing video to music). He's spent the past few years learning how to VJ, exploring various software, collecting and making videos and experimenting. He's had a number of live performances supporting a local group of DJs at charity events and festivals.
Rather than simply just mixing different clips of video together in a cinematic, story telling manner, I'm more interested in creating an abstract representation of sound.
Generating multi layered compositions with an assortment of filters all of which are controlled partly through audio analysis and partly by me to make a live visual interpretation of music.
Live mixing like this is an improvised exploration and the imagery is always evolving. It's also a lot of fun as I often discover new and beautiful combinations quite by accident.
